Virtual campuses & distance learning. No more distant to you. Institute of Computing Technology with the financial backing of SIDA embarked on taking education to the doorsteps of students living away from the large cities. The foundation of this venture is the network infrastructure at the Universities of Colombo and Ruhuna with 1000+ structured nodes certified for gigabit speeds, which would enable the staff and students of both universities to collaborate and access external resources at large via the internet.

This network, envisaged to facilitate Distance Learning programs via the Internet. With this project off ground, students will be able to learn their lessons and earn their credits from the luxury of their homes, in a more relaxed atmosphere.
