South Asia Gateway terminals (SAGT) realized this need. The solution required was two fold. One is to eliminate down time and the other is to provide for disaster recovery. The solution offered was a combination of on-site and off-site clusters based on IBM’s High Availability Clustered Multi- Processing (HACMP) architecture where by the main system will be replicated online on a continuous basis at locally as well as geographically seperate location. This was designed taking into considerations the scalability and flexibility to facilitate the growth envisaged at SAGT. This enables SAGT to continue with their business not only if they have a localized problem with the Applications Server, but also in case of a disaster which could destroy their main system with zero downtime.
